If you are unhappy with the colour, shape or position of your teeth, a porcelain veneer could offer the perfect solution.
These incredibly thin layers of porcelain are custom-made to fit over the surface of a tooth, creating a natural and hardwearing finish.
Your dentist will work closely with you to help you understand every element of the treatment, and to decide exactly the final effect you wish to achieve, from a subtle improvement of one tooth, to a completely new ‘Hollywood’ smile.
Veneers are designed to make teeth look healthy and natural, and will require at least two visits to match the shade and then to fit the veneer. It is held in place by a special, strong adhesive, often with very little or no preparation needed.
When a little preparation is required, a very small amount of the enamel is removed; just the thickness of the veneer itself (so the tooth stays the same size), helping to ensure the veneer is completely bonded to the tooth. A local anaesthetic may be used, but this is often unnecessary, so for many patients this is a completely pain-free way to transform their smile.
